The last day of school is upon us! CP has had a wonderful Grade 2 year and has been fortunate to have another terrific teacher. I had great plans for Mrs. Y’s gift – unfortunately it didn’t quite turn out as planned. I worked on a name block for her yesterday only to discover that the original coat of paint was starting to peel off along with the new coats of paint and her name. I was quite frustrated and feeling a little melancholy over the fact that my last two projects didn’t quite turn out the way I wanted. Needless to say this is why I didn’t share a project this past Wednesday!

We had a fabulous first weekend of summer - mini-camping trip in Altamont, biking with our trail-a-bikes, swimming at Manitou pool, checked out the Archibald Historical Museum (home to two Nellie McClung residences and tonnes of other great historical items), fun at St. Leon playground, the girls won 2nd place in the local duck race fundraiser (you buy a number that corresponds with a number on a rubber duckie, then float hundreds of ducks down one of the streets in town with the help of the water pumper truck, first 3 ducks through the finish line/hole win $$!) and the girls made their own FAIRY GARDEN!

Wow! It’s hard to believe it’s the first day of summer! Spring just flew by. I hope everyone had a wonderful day and was blessed with beautiful weather (or at the very least were able to see the sunshine at least once!). I spent the day with NP and we had a fabulous time working on projects together, going to the “Movie Theatre” (our living room) to watch Tinker Bell & pig out on popcorn and watching her dance in the rain and splash in the puddles. It was priceless watching her. DP & CP are having a father/daughter night watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers play football. CP really loves her daddy time!

Tuesday is CP’s last piano lesson until fall and is also her recital. It amazes me how well she and the others do to get up on stage in front of more than just family and play their best. It is such a proud moment!
I wanted to make a gift for Mrs. G using sheet music.
These great projects gave me some inspiration and guided me to know which direction to go with this project.

Wow, it feels like so long since I've had time to work on a project and get one posted here (sorry!). I had been hoping to have time to get working on this on Sunday, but family time at the Mud Bog was much more fun and important!
I have to tell you that I am extremely proud of this sign. My mother-in-law really liked it and asked me where I had gotten the idea and it was then that I realized that I came up with it all on my own. So many of my projects have come from inspiration from other amazing bloggers, but this was all mine. It is just a wonderful feeling to know that I have my own creativity and ideas to share.

I have had an incredibly busy week so, unfortunately, haven't had a chance to work on any projects. I'm hoping to get some time today to work on a few things I've been wanting to complete and will get those posted shortly thereafter.

Well it seems kind of crazy to be posting about Easter eggs in June, but my daughters really wanted me to include this post! These eggs are so versatile that they don't have to be just for Easter; perhaps they would make a fun summer craft as well!
One of my favourite magazines is Disney Family Fun. I LOVE it and cannot wait for it to arrive in the mail 10 times a year! They do have a website, but I'm still one of those people that like to have an actual magazine or a book in my hands. I find fun, easy crafts and ideas in every magazine I receive. I'm sure many of the crafts I post on this site will have originated from this magazine and that includes this one.

I made these photo holders to go along with the other photo / recipe / post it holders that we gave NP's nursery school teachers for an end of year gift. You will notice that this tutorial follows the one for the other holders for quite a few of the steps.
